2nd of July 2008 - GUND pleased to announce that yesterday, 1st July 2008, Enesco completed the acquisition of the worldwide assets of GUND the 110 year old premier plush manufacturer.

GUND is acclaimed by the trade and consumers alike for the quality of its product and for being the first manufacturer to create and continue developing the world’s most huggable plush products.

Both the Enesco and GUND companies have a common philosophy of nurturing brands along with a strong emphasis on customer service and it is these attributes that binds our companies together. Said GUND’s Mike Ganley “It really is an exciting time in that Enesco are a global leader in the gift industry and one of the largest manufacturers and distributors giftware in Europe. Like GUND, they have a strong stable of gift brands and have won both trade and consumer awards for their service to the Independent Retailer”.

GUND will operate as an independent division of Enesco, there will be no change to the GUND UK operation and it will be “business as usual”. GUND will however, with the strength and assistance of a new parent company, aim to continue the development of the business and bring to the market more great products and continued good service.

The largest Teddy Bear the company ever produced for retail sale has been manufactured by one of the worlds oldest soft toy companies GUND. Living up to their logo of “The World’s Most Huggable”, the company expanded their business considerably in 2007 with regular introductions of new product and range extensions into hard goods. Managing Director Mike Ganley says “The Spring Fair will see our largest launch of new product in the company’s 110 year history to the extent that we will have to expand our sales force to continue to provide our award winning customer service”.
